Installation instructions for GRIZZ Heavy film
The installation is very simple and intuitive.
1. Clean and degrease. The paintwork must be clean and dry. Degrease the installation surfaces with isopropanol. No waxes or ceramic coatings.
2. Align. Each element is printed with a pattern and a side designation. Position it dry - HeavyDuty indicates the correct orientation itself.
3. Apply piece by piece. Remove the protective film and press the film firmly into place piece by piece by hand - without a squeegee or liquid.
4. Done. Off you go. Full adhesion immediately after installation - drive off and enjoy the ride.
Frequently asked questions
Does HeavyDuty fit every car?
HeavyDuty is available for several hundred car models - from passenger cars and SUVs to vans and off-road vehicles. We design each set for a specific model and body type, so the coverage may vary depending on the vehicle. We do not use universal solutions. Select your model or send us your vehicle's year and version - we will put together the right set.
How long does installation take?
A complete set (hood + bumper + fender + rocker panel) takes about 60–90 minutes to install for the first time. Video instructions are available for each model. Installing the film for the tailgate takes no more than 15 minutes.
Does HeavyDuty damage the paint when removed?
No. The adhesive was specially selected so that it leaves no residue on the original paint. Remove the film slowly and at an angle - the paint will remain unchanged. We do not recommend applying it to repainted surfaces (workshop repairs).
Can the car be washed with HeavyDuty?
Yes - contactless, by hand, or in a car wash (with soft brushes). Simply avoid directing a high-pressure jet at a sharp angle directly onto the edges of the panels.
How long does HeavyDuty last?
With professional installation and use - 3 to 5 years. This depends on the intensity of use and the conditions. On heavily used vehicles, the edges may need to be replaced after 2–3 years.
Is HeavyDuty waterproof?
The film has a protective coating that prevents dirt, mud, and dust from penetrating the material structure - when washed, they run off without leaving any residue. The adhesive is waterproof - neither the car wash nor driving in heavy rain will loosen it.
Does HeavyDuty protect against scratches from dog claws?
Yes. The 0.8 mm thickness and hard structure reliably withstand scratches from claws, keys, or branches. This is exactly the kind of everyday situation HeavyDuty was made for.
Does HeavyDuty change the appearance of the car?
Yes - and that is intentional. HeavyDuty has a matte, rough texture. The car looks more rugged and technical. If invisible protection is important to you, a classic PPF film is the better choice.
